Tennis Shoe Cushioning. For tennis players, the primary factor determining purchase of a tennis shoe is comfort. For researchers and manufacturers, injury prevention is a main area of interest, concern and design. For both groups, heel and forefoot cushioning and stability is the common denominator between comfort and injury reduction.
The Racquet Comparison Tool compares properties of any two racquets. The comparison parameters include both statically and dynamically measured performance variables. The dynamic specs are measured during the impact between a ball and racquet. These include power potential, sweet zone size, and vibration frequency.
Tennis Warehouse University (TWU) is dedicated to helping tennis players scientifically compare and choose racquets and strings as well as to increasing tennis science education. At TWU we test all racquets and strings with specifically designed equipment in our lab.
The analysis is based on an incident ball speed of 25 mph with spin of 3,000 rpm and hit at the top of the bounce, a swing angle of 19 degrees upward from horizontal, and racquet tilt of 10 degrees forward from vertical. The impact point is 21 inches from the butt end and either on-center or 2 inches off-center.
